Harmful Hair straightening Techniques

Many people go to parlors and get their hair straightened without even knowing the actual process which is used for straightening the hair. Usually in hair straightening various chemicals are used to obtain the desired effect. You might not have even thought of how dangerous this process might be for your hair. Your hair might be intact till you are young, but by the time you are fifty you will lose fifty percent of your hair if you go for hair straightening. You hair expert might assure you of many things, but, this fashion will make you absolutely fashion less and obsolete looking for the rest of your life.

Hair straightening is done using certain chemicals which will change the chemical composition of your hair for a while. Let me tell you what actually happens when you straighten your hair.

There are two hair straightening solutions: one is temporary and the other one is permanent (actually it is temporarily permanent). In the temporary process you hairs will be ironed by using infra red heat and negative ions that will result in frizz-free hair. But if you do not follow necessary precautions, your hair will retain its previous shape. If you straighten your hairs again and again using this hair straightening strategy, your hair will definitely get permanently damaged no matter what.

The second type is said to be a Japanese invention. In this technology, the Sulphur and even Nitrogen bonds of your hairs are broken. The reason why your hairs become curly is because these Sulphur and Nitrogen bonds inside the core of your hairs hold your hair in a particular shape as predefined by nature. So what actually happens during hair straightening is that a particular harmful chemical is applied to your hair to break and reform these bonds. In order to avoid the contact of your scalp with this harmful chemical, a board or a gel is used to cover your scalp in such a manner that the chemical does not reach the skin. Now the harmful chemicals react with your hairs and break the Sulphur bonds of your hair. Now that the Sulphur bonds are broken, your hair can be given any desired shape. At this time your hair is so delicate that it can be broken with the slightest tug it will be subjected to. Your hair dresser will know the amount of time that will be required for the chemical to completely react with your hair. After the bonds are completely broken, your hair is rinsed softly and is straightened by using certain techniques that will keep the shape of your hair straight for a few minutes. Now one more chemical is applied to your hair which will restore the Sulphur bonds. While the Sulphur bond is established in your hair, your hair will retain the position it was in while the bonds were reformed. In short this is just like removing a bent iron rod from your hair, holding it straight and stuffing hot iron solution in it which will take the present shape that your hair is held in. You will observe that the hairs of people who have straightened their hair are quite delicate and in most of the cases are already half broken.

After straightening your hair, it is advised to use a very mild shampoo (harsh shampoo will cause hairfall) and a strong conditioner (to oxidize your hair so that you can try to prevent hairfall as far as possible). And you must never ever even think of heat styling tools. However, the good news is that whichever hairs remain on your head will grow with time. And thus as the newer portion grows, your hairs will start bending as they previously did and you will retain your previous noodles like curly hair near the scalp where the new hair grows. Having curls in the hair is good as it adds to the beauty of your hairs. Let your hair grow as nature wants it to grow. After all nature knows what suits you the best and what doesn’t, doesn’t it? I sincerely suggest my readers not to go for hair straightening.

Have a nice day!!!!!
