Dimples | Dimples Surgery

Everybody loves to have a dimple on his/her cheek. Dimple is the cutest defect on a person’s face! Yes you heard it right, a dimple is a defect! In simple words dimples are indentations formed on a person’s face. In Asian countries dimples are said to bring good fortune and fertility to a person. But how are dimples formed? Read on:

• Irregular muscles on a person’s face can make him get dimples. In this case a person’s face will have shorter muscles which contract and cause an indentation on the cheek or chin on his/her face whenever he/she smiles thus creating a dimple on his/her face. In this case the muscles split apart in order to cause the dimples.

• A dimple is a fault in the subcutaneous connective tissue. This develops during the development of the embryo at the time of birth.

• Variation in the structure of the facial muscle Zygomaticus Major is also known to be a major cause of dimples among the masses.

• Dimples are also genetically inherited by an offspring from its parents.

• It can also be formed due to sudden mutations in ones genes (happens very rarely).

Whatever be the cause, the younger generation is really crazy about getting dimples on its cheeks. In Asian countries getting dimples on the cheeks is craved for by the youngsters because of its presence on the cheeks of ultimate celebrities like John Abraham, SRK and Preity Zinta (in the case of girls). Girls are so crazy about these celebrities that they wish to have a husband or a boyfriend who has got a dimple on his cheek. And the craze for dimple is so wild that the girls advise their boyfriend to get dimples implanted on their cheeks through a dimples surgery.

Moreover the surgery is painless and takes only about half an hour to implant dimples on both the cheeks! But I warn my readers again and again: Do not go for implanting a dimple on your face through a surgery. Plastic surgery or surgery of any sort is considered to be potentially harmful to ones health. Though the effect might not be too large, still, it is better to avoid artificial surgeries of any sort. I will give you the procedure used by doctors in dimple formation surgeries. If you are convinced you may go for it. Here is the procedure using which the surgery is done:

The skin and the cheek muscle are connected, so that, when the muscle contracts (during smiling) an indentation occurs in the overlying skin thus causing a dimple. In this case an instrument is used to cut through the inner lining of the cheek, the fat below it and ultimately into the muscle. The outer skin is left intact and is not disturbed. The wound is now closed with a suture (a catgut string whish later dissolves into the tissues). The scar thus formed will create a dimple every time the person smiles.

And this is how dimples are artificially implanted. Though dimples are attractive, there are many celebrities who steal the hearts even without a dimple. So why bother about getting plastic surgery dimples. After all nature knows what is needed to beautify you. But, if you are so reluctant in getting artificial dimples I will not stop you. Some people dream about getting dimples. But, it has been a proved fact that dimples do not look good on everybody. If you are unsure whether you need a dimple or not tell the doctor to do a reversible surgery so that you can erase the dimple in case you think that it does not look good on your face. Some people have cried after getting permanent dimples on their faces through dimples surgery. Avoid such situations and think many times before you go for dimples surgery. Also the depth of the dimple cannot be predicted till the operation is over. So take your own time and decide whether you really need to go dimple surgery or not. I personally feel that natural dimples are the best dimples and natural beauty is the best beauty. Gold does not look good on everybody, similarly dimples also do not look good on everyone. Remember that the Great Creator thinks many a times before creating His masterpiece (and that’s you). So if your girlfriend insists you to go for a dimple surgery leave the girl but do not change yourself for her. The girl who accepts a boy “as he is” is considered to be the best match for him. I swear, my granny told this to me “and she has got dimples too”!
