Vaastu Shastra | Vaastu Shastra Importance

Vaastu Shastra is an ancient Indian science of architecture which helps people to build a balanced house in which all the five elements viz. air, water, earth, fire and ether to be balanced. Thus vaastu shastra helps a person to build a balanced house which helps his spiritual, economic and physical growth. The best part is that vaastu shastra is extremely easy to follow. The basic principle of vaastu shastra is to balance the five basic elements of nature in order to give man a happy and prosperous life. Vaastu shastra was basically applied to temple architecture. In fact, the temple of Shri Vishnu at Tirupathi is said to be built perfectly according to vaastu shatra. And we all know the flow of money that this perfectly built according to vaastu shastra temple sees. The word Vaastu comes from the word “vaas” which means a dwelling, and shastra means a science. And hence, vaastu shastra is the science of house architecture. Modern times have brought forth a modern Vaastu Shastra which is compact and very easy to understand. In fact Vaastu Shastra has now become a very important part of the interior designing in modern times and has also become the trend of the day.

And hence it is absolutely important to follow vaastu shastra even in these modern times where technology is dominant and ever changing in order to have a balanced house and hence a balanced life. It is a well known fact that the house is a reflection of the person dwelling in it. Hence, the importance of vaastu shastra becomes evident. A balanced person lives in a balanced house and has all the benefits that he can possibly get from his house which is planned with the basic Vaastu Shastra rules taken into consideration. The following four points give a brief overview of the whole vaastu shastra:

• According to vaastu shastra there should be absolutely no weight in the north-east corner. If possible one should have the entrance of the house in this corner of the house. There should be windows and doors in the north and east direction of almost every room according to the vaastu shastra. Vaastu experts particularly point out that even a single piece of paper should not be allowed to lie in this direction of the house or room. A bore-well should be placed in this corner. There should be some source of flowing water in this direction. An underground water tank is also acceptable.
• Vaastu shastra states that all the weight in the house should be thrown in the south-west direction. Also the south-west direction of every room should be loaded with heavy objects. It is advisable to keep the treasury locker in the south-west direction. Thus according to vaastu shastra all the positive energy that flows in form the north-east direction helps the treasury locker to prosper, thus bringing financial growth to the owner of the house. Also the south-west corner should be completely blocked. A window or two for allowing the air and light to enter the room is allowable. The north-east corner is the best place to have a bedroom. This place is an ideal corner for a bedroom.
• The south-east corner is the direction of Agni. Fire is essential element. A bathroom in this direction will suppress the quality of AGNI. Some vaastu experts tell that a bathroom in this corner is acceptable. But I personally feel that this place should have only a kitchen. The tap of the kitchen should be undoubtedly placed in the northeast corner as it serves the purpose of flowing water.
• The last direction is the north-west direction. This is the place where there is the air element. Hence this direction can hold a hall or a lobby in business organizations. This place can be one where guests can come and go.

Apply a few vaastu shastra tricks to your modern house and you will undoubtedly see improvements in the house and also in the life of all your family members. Once the people in a balanced modern house (built well according to the rules of the vaastu shastra) choose a proper path, they are found to perform extremely well and prosper in their professional life pretty well. Students failing time and again in their examinations are found to perform much better in a well-planned perfect house. If there are really any problems in a well-planned house, it just means that there is still some flaw in the house. If you go to a vaastu expert he will tell you to literally break the whole house and reconstruct it! So please use you brains and remember the above points properly and apply them properly in a practical manner just the way a modern trendy guy is supposed to do.
