If you want a good mp3 PMP player, PMP’s from Transcend, Sandisk, Cowon and Sony should be your top priority. You can choose the cheapest player that suits your budget. But, mind you, there are many people selling fake players which are China goods. They may sound good, but, will often go for repairs. They do not come with any sort of guarantee or warranty. Hence choose your player very carefully. Sandisk is known for the tremendous list of features that its players are equipped with. It gives you the pooch for every buck that you spend on it.
While choosing any PMP player please make sure that it meets the following set of requirements:
• Your PMP should allow USB charging as well as charging through charger. You cannot search for a computer once you go for a trip to a far away distant place.
• Should have a set of decent ear plugs or ear phones which are small and comfortable to the ear (for hours together).
• The PMP should support at least 8GB internal and external memory.
• The PMP’s sound must be high so as to eliminate any external sound coming from the surroundings.
• Your PMP should be slim and funky.
• The PMP should support customizable equalizer settings and should have at least 6 default equalizer modes (if you are good at fiddling around with the equalizer settings in order to get the desired sound effect check out if the PMP supports manual equalizer settings).
• Take a look at the battery backup of the PMP. Choose a PMP with the greatest battery backup. Usually the backup of PMP’s is a bit less than that specified by the manufacturer.
• Check if the PMP has Video or photo support.
• Video PMP’s should usually have a wider screen.
• Some PMP’s give you the option of a supplementary useless camera. Don’t be fooled by it. The cameras are of no use unless you buy a costly cowon PMP player.
• PMP players are bought mostly for listening to songs. If you are satisfied with the audio output of your mobile you may consider cancelling your idea of buying a PMP.
• If you love bass equalizer mode the best PMP would be Apple’s product. Apple is known for the tight bass that it gives. The Apple’s Nano series PMP are especially renowned for their tight bass equalizers. But cowon D2 gives you an almost equal performance with a good screen that makes your perfect day even more delightful with the tremendous features that come bundled with it.
• Check if the PMP supports radio.
• The default bundled ear phones are almost like a complement gift provided just for the sake of it. It is recommended to go for intra-ear, headphone from Bose (costs around 100$, that’s Rs5000). But not all drivers (PMP’s) play them properly. Sandisk especially will not support any earphone other than the bundled ones. The quality of the default bundled earphones in case of Sandisk is just excellent.
• Costlier PMP’s support many other functions like Bluetooth, Browsing and many such accessories and programs. So watch out if there are any such options available. Some PMP’s support touch-screen technology. So watch out for it before buying one.
• Your PMP should and must support the option of adding playlists.
If you want to buy a PMP MP4 player go for either Sandisk or Cowon. If you can afford, you may buy any of the Cowon D or A series. They will satisfy every buck that you shell out to buy them. When it comes to MP4 PMP’s there is none better than Cowon. Even Apple’s PMP’s are overlooked because of the lacking of a good wide screen which can help the gadget geeks watch cool movies on the go.
