Technical Magazines Reviews

We all like to read technical magazines but are confused on which one to buy and which one to leave. Looking at the plethora of choices the magazines provide at different price tags really renders us clueless as to which among them is the best. The following article will give you a review of the three leading technology magazines of India.

PC Quest: This magazine is intended more towards the managing professionals of the IT sector. It is also a good magazine to refer to if you are looking forward to finding your way into the managing sector of the leading IT industries. It will tell you all about the necessary skills required to get recruited into the leading software as well as hardware industries present worldwide. This is the best option for a student studying either BBM or MBA. It is also your cup of tea if you are working as a manager in any IT industry. It usually comes up with topics like IT Team management, Team strategies, Outsourcing, e-Governance, etc. If you are searching for a magazine packed with good information regarding software, hardware, applications and a CD equipped with lots of softwares and Games, this is definitely not your cup of tea. The reviews given on different softwares/ hardwares is quite appreciable. But again it gives a long textual information which the readers might not find to be so interesting. it also forgets to summarize things properly at the end, thus leaving the reader confused. But the costs are quite low. It shall be available at prices ranging between Rs 100 to Rs 125. It did not come with any supplement when I subscribed it. It comes with a CD and a Dual layer DVD of 8.5 GB space which is equipped with softwares and a few Games. The CD’s and DVD’s have a very bad impression as they do not run like normal CD’s or DVD’s and are confusing enough for the newbies to stop buying it from the very next time. Overall it is a real treat for the Management students and corporates as well as recruiters. Buy this only if you are a real reader who is more serious with jobs and less serious with the content in the discs.
CHIP: Things got quite confusing when people at CHIP changed the name of their magazine from Digit to CHIP. This also shuffled a few users from one magazine to the other. CHIP is more about experimentations with softwares and hardwares. It tells you a few tips and tricks. Has a Dr.CHIP who tells you about the various things you can do to correct the faulty operations of certain softwares and harwares in your PC. A separate section for the newly launched products. This is a magazine prepared by the expert hands. The technical reviews are just great. The summaries given just blew my head off. Everything has been done very neatly and perfectly in this technical masterpiece. It also gives you good game reviews and also a few Hands On procedure for playing around with the settings of your PC. It sometimes comes with a Free Supplement. It will give you a 8.5 GB DVD which is equipped with a few good ebooks sometimes. It is also reasonably rated at Rs 125. The quality of the given content is just awesome. The interface used in the discs is also at its best. After all, it is created by well trained experienced brains, isn’t it?
Digit: the only magazine which can challenge every other magazine in the market is probably Digit. If you have 150-200 bucks to piss out on a technology magazine go for Digit. You will get everything which CHIP gives you along with a special Fast Track with every issue. The rate is absolutely reasonable. There are a few flaws no doubt but they are not major ones. Digit best buy products are 100% satisfactory. Excellent testing! Excellent design! Good interface! Two dual layer DVD’s each filled with 8.5 GB of important softwares, games, videos and a lot more. Overall this is a magazine which has decided to steal the heart of anyone who even gives a look at it. No need of hours of downloads for keeping in touch with the latest version of your favourite media player. This single magazine has it all and can be recommended to anybody with blind eyes. The only minus point of this magazine would be its higher cost. But the content provided is just worth it. There are special subscription offers. So watch out for an offer which will suit you the best. Overall I would say that digit is a step further than CHIP because of its content superiority in terms of quantity. As far as the quality is concerned both the magazines will share the same slot.
Have a nice day!!!!!!!!!!!
