The Secret Behind Cooking

Does anybody know the secret behind good cooking? The secret is that there is no secret. Has anybody watched master chef episodes? Take a look at them and you will get to know the secret behind good cooking.

It is not necessary that anything cooked perfectly will taste good. First and foremost cooking is about the right amount of salt added (that's what expert cook(er)s have got to say). Do not stick to measuring salt with spoons? Spoons may change, but, one thing will never cheat your judgement: your hands. Try to add salt to the dish with your hands. Yes, it does bring about great changes in the dish. When you add salt with your hands you also mix some of your love into the food

Cooking is about having the perfect balance between everything that you add to your dish. You will find women in India who have never gone to a school throughout their lives and yet they cook the best food in the world. Cooking is an art, not a science. And there is no secret behind the greatest art.

To me there is one ingredient that my mother always adds in whatever she cooks. Love, and that's what make the food a lot more tastier than what it is supposed to be. Sometimes charred food also tastes great if the food is cooked with lots and lots of love (does it?).

A cook should always have confidence that his dish has in it what can make everyone happy. I remember our cook saying, "there is magic in my hands. Whatever I cook always tastes great". And hey, he is not wrong. If you are afraid that your food will not be liked by others, probably you are right. But, never stop experimenting in the kitchen. Whatever you cook for the first time cook it for yourself and then ask an expert chef around you to taste it and to tell you what the food is lacking.

There is no secret behind good cooking. You just need to have interest in whatever you cook. You may fail one or two times. But, remember: failures are the building blocks of success. You will not get to know the secret behind cooking so easily, at least not by just reading an article like this. Remove the pan take whatever comes to your hand and start cooking out of the book and taste it. The next time you will know what mistakes you have done and you will always get a chance to rectify yourself. However here is one secret for some good cooking: if you dish turns out to be too salty add some lemon to it (the other way round also holds good). And hey add the lemon to balance the taste (do not make things so sour that you get scolded by your neighbours husband). So that is the secret behind good cooking (what was it though)!
