HP Laptop Overheating Issue And Its Reasons

HP laptops getting overheated has been a matter of concern for most HP customers. The overheating of the HP laptop is not a very serious issue. I recently went to a HP servicing center to get a HP Laptop repaired and took my chance to ask the technician the reason for the overheating issues being addressed about the HP Laptops. The reasons are as follows:

HP laptops do not get overheated. As a matter of fact the statement is true: it is not the laptop but it is the processor which gets overheated.

The reason why the processor gets overheated is because HP laptops more often come with an AMD processor. There are many things in an AMD processor which helps it beat the Intel processors when it comes to performance and technology being used. An AMD processor uses a latest computing technology called as 3DNow! instruction set. 3DNow! defines a set of SIMD (single instruction multiple data) instructions that can perform multiple floating-point operations per clock cycle. In addition to the 3DNow! technology it also supports SSE computing technology that is used by Intel in order to deal with compatibility issues. With 3DNow! AMD processor can process and handle multiple processes within a single clock cycle. Intel does not use 3DNow! technology and this has something very much to do with  the overheating issues that comes up with the HP laptops all the time.

It is the processor which gets overheated because it has to do a lot of work in a single clock cycle as compared to Intel processors. HP dos only one thing: it takes a group of hardware devices from different companies (DVD writer from LG, Motherboard from some other company and so on), rigs them up and develops a software which can run the hardware installed on the laptop. At the most it is the outer cover which is being designed by HP and some device hardware which HP manufactures.

AMD processors getting overheated in your HP laptop should not trouble you as long as you are not holding your laptop on your lap for a very long time. The HP laptop though gets heated up very quickly due to AMD, gives you a very solid performance when it comes to entertainment. If you are a keen observer you will find that HP screens give you a very good high definition display in the true sense of the word. The processor is built well enough to sustain the heat generated and should not be a matter of concern as far as any damage is concerned. If you are so specific you can buy a cooling device for your laptop. Always keep your laptop on hard surfaces unless you do not mind getting your lap burnt.

HP laptops are performing good and hence have still survived in the market despite the overheating issues. Some people prefer HP laptops when it comes to gaming. In fact the configuration of HP laptop when powered with AMD processor and a good graphics card can be a real entertainment pack and churn any data thrown at it with complete ease. The overheating with HP laptops will always be an issue unanswered as long as they will be using the AMD processor. But the technology under the hood is something which can beat the claims of overheating issues of HP laptops.
